COMMUNITY SCIENCE

Members of the community helped collect the initial assessment data that steered the decision-making process for this project, but data collection is never done! There are other ways that you can participate in this aspect of the Partnership.

A Chronolog is a tool that creates a timelapse using user-submitted photos taken at a fixed location. A Chronolog has been placed in each of the assessed parks, focusing on different aspects of the work the Partnership has been completing. Below you can view the timelapse generated at the Partnership's most popular location, Riverview Park.

iNaturalist is an online tool that helps you identify plants and animals around you to learn about nature, while generating data for science and conservation. You can use it to record your own observations, get help with identifications from other users, and collaborate to document and submit the living organisms found within areas being managed by the Rivanna Forest Restoration Partnership! View the 3 most recent observations made across the Partnership area to the right. Join the project for the Partnership to contribute your own discoveries!

eBird is a tool for recording bird observations, and is used by hundreds of thousands of citizen-scientist birdwatchers every day.
